Hi! My name is Akshay. I’m 18 and based near the Chicagoland Area. Growing up near such a large city has given me plenty of opportunities to explore the beauty of dense urban areas, however, my parents have given me the privilege to explore other parts of the world, as I’ve been traveling since before I can remember.
The privilege of visiting national parks has sparked my passion for capturing what I see. I originally started my hobby as a film photographer because I was lucky enough to find an old automatic 35mm camera in a Goodwill. From there, I salvaged a Nikon D3500 DSLR Camera, and by the time I was working, I signed up for Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. I’ve been granted opportunities from my school and friends to expand my photography skills.
In the Fall of 2025 I will be starting my career as a student and the University of Illinois at Chicago. One of my main hopes is that the city atmosphere inspires me to create new, unthought of collections of work that demonstrate my growth as a photographer and as a person.
